17th saw the 2014 Abefeldy triathlon take place in sunny Perthshire.
The weather was a little 'gusty' but for most of the day the rain
stayed off and we enjoyed the sunshine.
The 'Lomo Swim' took place on Loch Tay. There was quite a breeze
blowing so swimming conditions were a little challenging but not

We had 3 different marker buoy types out on the Loch, The Tomato,
The Tetrahedron, and our 'Sausage' lane markers. These all helped
the swimmers be able to see the course whilst in the water.
The swim section was quite challenging this year with a persisten wind making the loch quite choppy at times. The current proved to be a challenge for some swimmers but they battled on and only a handfull needed some help from the safety boats. .

From there the athletes left the beautiful setting of Loch Tay and
headed out on the cycle leg which took them over Schiehallion and
around Loch Rannoch. The wind didnt let up though and head on winds
and frequent gusts made the cycle leg difficult in places.
