Caving bags are used in a variety of different environments. The most obvious is caving itself where they are used to carry various types of equipment such as ropes and tackle needed for a caving trip. These bags are also popular with outdoor centres where they are used to carry customer equipment around while they do various activities. The drain holes in the bottom and a wide mouth for easy access makes these caving bags popular for use as rope bags for climbing activities and for access work in industry.
The stitching in the caving bag has been toughened up to make it robust and the use of cross stitch panels has been used to strengthen certain attachment points. The low profile shoulder straps are made from high strength continuous 25mm webbing to help take the strain.
Caving bags are not designed to be dry bags. They have drain holes built in to allow wet gear to dry out and drip out of the bottom. If you require dry bags please see our dry bags section.
The top of the bag is finished with a draw string closure which helps reduce the ingress of dirt and mud. The cord is pulled through the rust resistant eyelets and the cord lock pulled up to help keep the bag closed in transit.
These bags are commonly used to carry such items as rescue kit, spare food, SRT gear, personal equipment, climbing ropes, other items of tackle and caving safety gear.
